Press Release in August 2005Statement of Dr.Subramanian Swamy, Janata Party President made in Chennai on August 26, 2005
1. I returned from Harvard yesterday. During the two month stay at Harvard to teach two economics courses to the students, I accepted invitations from the Kanchi Kamakoti Seva Foundation and Kanchi Forum to address meetings in various cities and towns of Florida, Washington DC, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. I was also invited by Swami Dayanand Saraswati of Arsha Vidya Ashram to address the students of Gita classes in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. In all, 24 meetings and conferences were addressed on the matters arising out of the Kanchi temple manager Sankararaman's murder and the bogus cases foisted on the Kanchi Mutt Acharyas which seen in a wider context, constitutes a threat to the Hindu foundation of India. These meetings were supported by the VHP, and the overseas RSS [known as Hindu Swayamasevak Sangh], Overseas Friends of BJP and other nationalist organisations. I told the NRIs present in these meetings that the murder and other cases foisted on the Mutt were bogus. Even the Supreme Court and the Madras High Court had opined that the cases lacked prima facie basis when the courts were considering the bail applications. Since no new evidence has been adduced by the TN police since then, hence all the cases stand condemned as fabricated, for which the TN CM must make full amends and apologize to the Acharyas. Otherwise, she is liable to be sued both nationally and internationally, in the future for these false arrests. I informed the US based NRIs that they had the right to internationalise the protest against the bogus cases foisted against the Kanchi Acharyas since freedom from religious persecution has been held to be a part of the UN Charter. The US Freedom of Religion Act 1998 also empowers the US President to raise the issue of such violations with the Indian Prime Minister, and if necessary, based on FBI investigations, order attachment of US-based properties owned by the offending Indian politicians in office, whether these properties are in their own names or benamis. It is a measure of NRIs "protest power" that Ms. Sonia Gandhi has had to suddenly cancel her visit to the US. About 2500 US based Indians were to demonstrate in New York on September 15th to demand an explanation from her for offences such as on her false claims of educational qualification made in an affidavit, her KGB connection, her tacit support to the LTTE that killed Rajiv Gandhi, her family's involvement in Indian antique smuggling, and her encouragement to TN CM Ms.Jayalalitha to foist false cases against the Kanchi Acharyas.
2. India must intervene in Sri Lanka to appprehend the LTTE leaders V.Prabhakaran and others wanted in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case. India has an obligation to put the LTTE out of action for five reasons: [1] India had trained the LTTE in the 1980s, and hence must atone for it. [2] LTTE betrayed India by killing about 1000 IPKF soldiers. [3] LTTE killed Rajiv Gandhi and pro-Indian Sri Lankan political leaders, for which there is an Interpol Red Corner Notice, and which acts of murder are a challenge to India's self respect, national security and sovereignty. [4] LTTE interferes in India's internal affairs by financing Indian stooge political parties, providing infrastructure to bandits such as Veerappan gang and DK goons, and in training in terrorist activities, organisations such as Naxalites, PWG, ULFA, and Maoists. [5] The LTTE is a part of the international terror network of Al Qaeda, and has collaborated with ISI of Pakistan to smuggle narcotics, weapons, and fake currency into India to disrupt internal security of India.

PRESS RELEASE on 22.08.2005
The Congress President Ms. Sonia Gandhi and her party [persons have once again exhibited disgusting hypocrisy on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi by mouthing insincere platitudes of praise but forgetting to vow to bring to book those who killed him. On the other hand Ms.Gandhi has formed an alliance with those parties who praise the killers of Rajiv Gandhi and laud his assassination by the LTTE. The terrorist organisations leader, Prabhakaran is a proclaimed offender in the murder case, but Ms.Gandhi has never before or yesterday vowed to get him extradited and tried for murder. Obviously there is something mysterious about Ms.Gandhi's attitude that should be investigated by the CBI-led MDMA. At least for Rajiv Gandhi's memory, crocodile tears should not be shed.

PRESS RELEASE on17.08.2005
The assassination of the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mr.Kadiragama, obviously by the terrorist organisation, the LTTE, must be retaliated in a language that terrorists understand. The perpetrators have to be brought to justice by resolve and without ambivalence. It is a shame that the Sri Lanka government has already begun to waver and wobble after some routine condemnation of the assassination. The government spokesperson has declared after the assassination that peace talks with the LTTE will continue! What for? Are the Sri Lankans suffering from "Stockholm Disease" or the "Norway Stupor"? Kadiragama was a Minister and a Tamil, and yet the LTTE has killed him. What kind of Chamberlainian "peace at hand" capitulation is the Sri Lanka government thinking of? It is India which today has a special responsibility to fix for good and permanently the LTTE. The LTTE supremo V.Prabhakaran and his deputy Pottu Amman are proclaimed offenders and wanted under Indian criminal law for the murder of Rajiv Gandhi. Moreover, Kadiragama was killed because he was perceived as pro-India and a Tamil who did not care for the threats of the LTTE. The Indian government cannot rely of the Sri Lankan government to apprehend Prabhakaran and his gang since Ms.Chandrika and her Ministers are in a surrender mode. India must therefore consult Israel and the US, and send a commando team to search for these LTTE terrorists and bring them to justice. I am surprised that Ms. Sonia Gandhi who is daily issuing condolence messages on all and sundry deaths, including in traffic accident cases, has been conspicuously silent whenever the LTTE murders anyone including her husband. Whatever letters she has now written to the Sri Lankan President and Kadiragama's widow should be made public by her. My informants in the island tell me that the letters of condolence are bland expressions of sorrow and regret without any promise of reprisal by India against the killers. I challenge her to prove her bonafides by demanding the immediate extradition of Prabhakaran and asking her rubber stamp PM to take effective action for the same. Let her now withdraw the letter she wrote to the President of India pleading to commute the death sentence given by Indian courts to four LTTE/DK thugs who conspired in the killing of Rajiv Gandhi.

PRESS RELEASE on 05.08.2005
The Madras High Court order delivered yesterday directing the release from prison of Kanchi Mutt connected persons is most welcome. These persons were unfairly arrested under the Goondas Act and deprived of their liberty. Now that they have been ordered to be set free, these persons must sue, for exemplary damages of Rs.100 crores, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. Jayalailtha, the DGP of the state, and all the police officers who participated in this perfidy and gross violation of human rights. Their salaries and property should be attached by the courts. The Goondas Act is meant for those who repeatedly and habitually break the law or show contempt for the law. In my opinion, the fittest case for arrest under Goondas Act because of frequent violation of citizens fundamental right of liberty and contempt of the Constitution, is the entire Council of Ministers led by the Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalitha and her instigator in the Sankaraman murder case, namely Ms Sonia Gandhi. If Ms.Jayalalitha does not want to be arrested by a future government under the Goondas Act, she should immediately do prayaaschitam [atonement] by withdrawing the bogus cases filed against the Kanchi Acharyas and tendering a public apology.
