The Janata Party will hold a conference of its Legal Front at Madurai on October 31st. The conference will be attended by about 35 select advocates from 15 districts, and will be addressed by senior advocates G.Rajagopal, K.Viswanathan (Kakkan’s younger brother), and T.K.Gopalan. The theme of the Conference will be “Fundamental Rights to Public Amenities: Role of PILs”. As a former Law Minister, I shall chair the meeting, while R.Ravi as convenor of the Front, shall be rappoteur. 2. On October 30, I shall be at Kaumidi, Ramanathapuram District to pay my respects to Muthuramalinga Thevar. I shall also make a pledge on that date not to rest till the AIADMK government withdraws its objection to re-naming Madurai Airport as Muthuramalinga Thevar Airport. The Union Government has accepted my proposal, but the AIADMK Government has twice objected to it. 3. On LTTE’s direction, Ms.Sonia Gandhi has decided to go for an electoral alliance with the DMK. The idea is to form a pro-LTTE alliance in the State since the BJP has developed cold feet on the LTTE, after my campaign against the Government on the issue in Court and outside on the issue. The LTTE is also upset with Ms.Jayalalitha for her patriotic moves of arresting under POTA pro-LTTE persons like Vaiko. Ms.Sonia Gandhi has already betrayed Rajiv’s memory by seeking amnesty for those convicted by the Supreme Court for his murder because of her Italian family’s long-term relations with LTTE in antique smuggling. When the Congress-DMK alliance is formally announced, I urge the patriotic Congress persons loyal to Rajiv Gandhi’s memory and his sacrifice to revolt and join the Janata Party in forming a third front in the State. 4. Congress MP Manishankar Aiyar should be prosecuted u/s 509 IPC for writing that Ms.Jayalalitha should be donated to Guruvayoor Temple. It is an insult and demeaning to the character of a women (to be so proposed to be donated). His allegation of a violent attack on him should be investigated by the CBI since it is an inter-state matter. 5. I demand that the AIADMK Government prosecute the DK’s office bearers under Section 153A for putting up black boards in Tamil Nadu stating that the people should not read “Brahmin-owned newspapers”. This is blatantly anti-casteist. 6. India should welcome Pakistan-Israel relations that is likely to emerge soon. It is in the interest of South Asia and Indo-Pakistan relations. The more secular Pakistan becomes in its foreign policy the better it is for India. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY)
